News For you!

Hello everyone,

I hope your week is going well.  This weekend I plan to bring the message, “Are You Feeling Overwhelmed?” from Numbers 11:1-35.  If you are feeling a little overwhelmed by the circumstances of life, this is the message for you.  Please read through the attached “Digging Deeper” Bible study notes before Sunday to get the most out of this very practical message.

NOTE:  After church on Sunday, I will be leaving for Coast Guard Chaplain training in Orlando, Florida.  I will be gone for the entire week and Joe Walker will be filling in for me on Sunday, August 21st.  Pastor Dave Rymer is slowly coming back, but is still very weak.  If any issues come up while I am gone, please call the elder in your shepherding group.

All Church Campout

Our “All-Church Campout” begins tomorrow (Thursday) at the Laverne Park Campground.  We still have five campsites open and encourage you to come and join us if you can.  I will be there Thursday and Friday, but plan to be home Saturday to prepare for Sunday’s message.

Church Playground Work Parties

Work parties on our children’s playground are scheduled for this Monday, August 15th and Saturday, August 20th at 9:00am.  We are replacing the sidewalks to make entry on the playground side of the Sanctuary safer and giving our children a bigger playground.  We really need your help and hope you are available on those days.

South Coast Gospel Mission Open House

The South Coast Gospel Mission will be holding an open house on Sunday, August 21st from 1:00pm-3:00pm.  Come and meet the mission’s new executive director Joshua Haynes and hear the vision he has for the mission.  For more information, please contact Joe Walker or Connie Brook.

SCC Prayer Request

Camp Good News ~ Please continue to pray for Jessie and the others at Camp Good News near Langlois.  Please pray that many children will come to faith in Christ.

Pastor Dave Rymer ~ Pastor Dave showed up at church today for a few hours.  He looks very weak and I’ve encouraged him to take it slow in coming back until he feels better.  I think we came pretty close to losing him with Covid, praise the Lord he made it through.

Pray Oregon Coast

There is no Pray Oregon Coast in August, we plan to pick up the event once again in September.

Thank you for your continued support of Shoreline Community Church in difficult times.  The Lord is doing something really special here and we are thankful that you call Shoreline your church home.  Keep pressing on for Jesus!
