News For You!!

Hello everyone,

I hope you were blessed by our outdoor worship last weekend.  We plan to continue worshiping outdoors (weather permitting) until the last week in September so don’t forget to bring your lawn chairs and appropriate clothing; remember the weather can change on a dime here.  This week I plan to bring the message, “Falsely Accused” from John 18:1-28; Stefanie Ahlers, her twin sister and brother will be leading our worship music.

Please read through the attached “Digging Deeper” Bible study notes before Sunday to get the most out of the message.

New Ministry Opportunity

The elders would like to have barbecue hotdogs, chips and a drink available after church on Sundays for a small donation, but we need people to step forward to be the cooks.  Any volunteers?  Also, we’ve had people ask if they could hang around after church and fellowship on the lawn playing horseshoes and other games.  The answer is, “Absolutely.” I really hope we can have a camplike atmosphere at our outdoor services.

I invite you to join me at 10:00am this Friday in the Passover Room for “Foundations – A Study In Systematic Theology.”  This week we will be discussing the topic of the baptism of the Holy Spirit.  I hope you can join me for this interesting study and subsequent discussion.

Pray Oregon Coast

Our next “Pray Oregon Coast” is scheduled for 6:00pm this Friday, July 15th at “The Refuge.”  The Refuge Church is located next to the Dairy Queen in downtown Coos Bay.  It would be great to have a lot of people there from Shoreline praying.

Women’s Bible Study & Food

The next Women’s Bible study with food is scheduled for 9:00am this Saturday, July 16th in the Passover Room.  This week’s DVD message will be “Clouds Without Water” by Justin Peters.  For more information call Smile Massie at 541-267-6545.

All-Church Prayer Time

Our prayer time has been moved to 8:30am Sundays in Room 101 for the duration of the summer.  I hope you can join this powerful time of prayer; it sets the tone for everything that follows on Sundays and for the week ahead.

Sunday School

Shoreline Community Church offer three Adult Sunday School classes at 9:30am Sundays in the main church building.  Bill Tomlinson teaches “The Gospel Of John” in Room 103; Pastor David Rymer teaches “Radical Christianity” in Room 101; and Joe Walker teaches 2 Samuel in the Passover Room.

Bullet Proof Outing

Our next trip is a miniature golf trip to Florence on Monday for our fourth through sixth grade students.  If you are interested, please contact Jessie.

CEF (Child Evangelism Fellowship) Five Day Club

We will be holding a CEF Five Day Club at the church from 1:00-3:00pm July 18th-22nd.  This club is open for all children 5 years old through 6th Grade.  Please be sure to bring your children, grandchildren, and neighborhood children to this event.  For more information, contact Jessie.

SCC Prayer Requests

  • Pastor Dave Rymer ~ Please keep Pastor Dave in your prayers as he has been quite sick for the past week with Covid.
  • Marilyn Hurt ~ Please continue to pray for Al and Marilyn as they recover, Marilyn has been released from the hospital and is back home now.
  • Dale Cooper ~ Dale’s ex-wife passed away suddenly on Monday.  Dale and his son are back in Salt Lake City, Utah taking care of the arrangements.  Please be in prayer for the family during this time.

I hope to see you this Sunday at 10:30am on the lawn.  Remember, that we have 13 parking spaces available in which you can watch the service, first come, first serve.
