Hello everyone,
Cheryl and I have returned from a wonderful trip to Alaska as we celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary a few months early during a time when the weather was good and the seas were calm. Pictures simply don’t do justice to the beauty of Alaska. Yesterday also marked 30-years of full-time ministry to the North Bend/Coos Bay area. We are hitting a lot of milestones this year including on November 6th the 20th birthday of Shoreline Community Church.
I hope you can join us this Sunday as I plan to bring the message, “Original Intent – America Refocus 250” as we hit yet another milestone, our nation reaching 250 years old. I think you will find this message enlightening as I use Ephesians 6:10-14a and 2 Chronicles 7:14 for our main text. Please read through the attached “Digging Deeper” Bible study notes before Sunday to get the most out of the message.
Gospel Jubilee Open Mic
We hope you can join us Sunday at 3:00pm for our next “Gospel Jubilee Open Mic” @ Shoreline. We invite you to join Tom and Debbie Trammel along with Steve Blum for this special occasion as we continue to celebrate the many blessing we have on our nation’s 250th birthday.
Ladies Night Out
Because of the July 4th weekend celebrations, our next “Ladies Night Out” has been moved to 6:00pm Friday, July 17th at the church. We hope you can join the ladies for this special time together.
Bullet Proof
Bullet Proof is our 3rd-6th grade ministry and meets weekly during the summer months. Bullet Proof meets next to the church office every Friday evening at 5:30pm. Bullet proof will still be meeting this Friday, July 3rd.
Frontline
Frontline is our Middle School/High School ministry and meets Monday evenings at 7:00pm. This Monday should be very special as Isaiah and Grace Turman join the meeting for the very first time as a married couple. We hope your students will be there!
The SCC All-Church Campout
Our Shoreline Community Church “All-Church Family Campout” is scheduled for July 8th through 13th at the Laverne Park Private Campground above Coquille. We have reserved the entire campground to ourselves. Please sign up for this event this Sunday on the form located behind the sound booth. Note: You can come for some or all of the campout. You can also come for jus the day if you like.
Pray Oregon Coast
Our next “Pray Oregon Coast” community prayer and worship event is scheduled for 6:00pm Friday, July 17th at Bay Area Foursquare Church in Coos Bay.
Men’s Breakfast
With this Saturday being July 4th, our “Men’s Breakfast” has been moved to 9:00am Saturday, July 18th. This month’s speaker will be Dave Foster; we hope that the men can join us for this time together.
Vacation Bible School
Our Mission 119:11 VBS (“Running The Race”) is scheduled for July 20th-24th from 10:00am-2:00pm. We hope that our K-6th grade children can join us for a great time together. For more information, please call the church office at 541-808-0902.
I wanted to thank Dale Cooper and Desmond Hangana for preaching in my place while I was gone. I thought both men did an outstanding job and very much appreciate the word they brought. Cheryl and I wish everyone a Happy 4th of July and look forward to seeing you this Sunday if not before!
