Hi everyone,
This weekend, I plan to bring the message, “The Benefits Of Our Justification In Christ” from Romans 5:1-11; communion will follow. I hope you are enjoying our chapter-by-chapter verse-by-verse study through the Book of Romans. To get the most out of Sunday’s message, please spend some time in the attached “Digging Deeper” Bible study notes before Sunday.
Mission 119:11 – 6:30pm Tonight (Midweek-Children’s Ministry)
Children (preschool – 6th Grade) are invited to join us tonight for “Mission 119:11.” Children should come expecting lots of fun and excitement and a great time in God’s Word, tonight’s theme will be “Drive-In-Movie Theater Night.” We hope to see you can join us tonight at Mission for an evening of fun.
TPUSA At The Egyptian Theater
Turning Point USA is holding “An American Values Tour” at 7:00pm tomorrow (Thursday) night at the Egyptian Theater in Coos Bay. Pastor Isaiah will be one of the youth ministry speakers and plans to bring a short message on “The Gospel And Community.” Tickets must be purchased through the Egyptian Theater website, if they are sold out there, I’ve been told there may be a few tickets available at the door. There will most-likely be many protesters at this event, if you attend, I want to remind you to act like Christians realizing some will be there trying to cause a scene so as to disrupt the event.
Building Update
Lots of work has been going on at the church this week. Adding a little more than 25% in size to the Sanctuary size has triggered the requirement for us to bring the entire Sanctuary, inside and out, up to current State fire codes; churches are considered commercial buildings. The original Sanctuary is 70 years old, so we must bring it up to code. As a result, we are doing additional Sheetrocking both inside and outside of the church. Unfortunately, meeting these codes means we will have to redo a portion of the outside work. This weekend, our bathrooms have been affected by the work so we won’t have as many stalls available as usual, but we will have enough to meet our needs. The elders have brought on contractor Doug Cole and his team, they are working hard and doing an excellent job of bringing us up to the current State fire codes in a timely manner.
Annual Church Business Meeting
Our Annual Church Business Meeting is scheduled for immediately after church on Sunday, February 8th. The elders will be asking the congregation to affirm the following individuals to serve in the noted offices throughout 2026, and also to approve the 2026 church budget for the amount of $500,000.00.
Elders:
Harry Abel
Jim Brown
Kip Johnson
Bob Pedigo
Tom Trammel
Deacons:
Phil Bogs
Roger Dunithan
Tony Huber
Les Kaye
Pat Myers
Bill Steevens
Buddy Young (New)
Note: If you have a reason why one of these men should not serve in the office of elder or deacon, now is your opportunity to come forward and let us know. In order to serve in 2026, each elder and deacon candidate is required to receive at least an 80% affirmation from the church members present at the Annual Church Business Meeting. Although an elder, as the lead pastor, I do not stand before the congregation every year but answer directly to the board of elders.
Frontline Bowling (Middle School and High School Students)
Frontline’s Bowling outing has changed time and dates due to a conflict. The new time and date of the event is Saturday, January 31st from 6:45pm to 8:45pm. If you want to ride the church van, please be at the church no later than 6:15pm. For more information, call Pastor Isaiah at 541-808-0902.

Janell Logan is offering a free queen size bedframe with drawers to anyone interested;
she did say there is no headboard. If you are interested, either contact Janell, or let me know and I’ll pass the information on to her.
