Hello everyone,

This weekend I plan to bring the message, “Be Thankful In All Circumstances” from 1 Thessalonians 2:13-20.  Please read the attached “Digging Deeper” Bible study notes before Sunday to get the most out of the message. 

Note: Special thanks to Dale Cooper for filling in for me last Sunday with a very timely message while I was gone, I was blessed by his message.  Dale made a passionate plea for help in ministry, especially in our children’s ministry.  Only one person volunteered.

Sirkka Purkey “Celebration Of Life”

Sirkka’s “Celebration Of Life” will be coming in the later part of January, I’ll let you know more as the time gets closer.

SCC Prayer Requests:

The family of Jeannie Hincke ~ Jeannie went home to be with the Lord yesterday morning, please keep her family in your prayers.  The family will be holding a small private ceremony.

Lon and Pat Kirkendall ~ Please continue to pray for their 17-year-old grandson Riley who is on life support in Portland and his mother Aimee.  Here is the latest:  Day 12 in PICU ~ Pain meds and anxiety meds upped to help Riley stay calm while off paralytic.  We tried a different anxiety med last to help with anxiety but also delirium.  It seems to be working.  Stopped antibiotic and aminophylline.  Still on life support and taking medicine for the mold in his lungs.  He might be on The anti-fungal for months. Life support minimum 1-2 weeks.   Then physical therapy.  They now believe Riley is having an allergic reaction to the aspergillosis and it is NOT growing in his lungs yet. They will keep testing.

An Important Update!

Hello everyone,

This weekend I plan to bring the message, “Do You Feel Like The Odds Are Stacked Against You?” from Judges 7:1-25.  Please read through the attached “Digging Deeper” Bible study notes before Sunday to get the most out of the message; communion will follow.  Please be praying about whom you can invite to church.

Daylight Savings Time

Please don’t forget that this Sunday we fall back, that means we get an extra hour of sleep.  

Critical Shortage

We are critically short on people willing to work Sundays with our children.  Things are so bad right now that the leaders in two areas of our children’s ministry want to step down because people won’t volunteer, they are totally drained.  As I said on Sunday, “I can’t preach and take care of our Children’s Ministry too.”  Note: I have already had to give up one of my adult classes and take a Director position in Mission 119:11 (our mid-week Children’s Ministry) to help keep the ministry going.  Please pray about what your part might be in reaching out to those who are our most precious possession: our children.  We need your help one Sunday a month.  Note:  85% of the people who are going to come to faith in Christ do so between the ages of 4 & 14.  (Child Evangelism Fellowship statistics)

Ladies Night Out

Our next “Ladies Night Out” is scheduled for 6:00pm Friday, November 1st at Shoreline Community Church.  Ladies can come expecting lots of fun and some great fellowship.

Men’s Breakfast

Our next Men’s Breakfast is 9:00am this Saturday at Shoreline.  Men are invited to come for lots of tasty food, great fellowship, and a lively discussion following.

Gospel Jubilee Open Mic

The “Gospel Jubilee Open Mic” is coming up 3:00pm this Sunday at Shoreline.  We invite you to join Tom and Debbie Trammel along with the gang for a great time of worshiping the Lord.  If you would like to perform a Christian song, please call Tom at 541-521-3330. 

MomCo

Young mothers are invited to attend our next MomCo (or Mom’s Community) meeting at Shoreline 9:30am Tuesday, November 5th (Childcare is available).

Please Vote

I have had the privilege of living in the United States since I was 8 years old, I am a “legal” immigrant.  I don’t know of a more important election in my lifetime than the one that will take place on Tuesday, November 5th.  In the United States we have the privilege of choosing our leaders, we shouldn’t take that lightly as not every country has the opportunity to do so.  Please examine “the platform” of both parties to see how they will vote on the issues and then consider voting for the platform that will best hold up our Judeo-Christian values.  Don’t be sucked into personalities, look at each candidate to see how they will vote.  Note:  Cheryl and I have already voted and we hope you have too.

SCC Prayer Request

Larry Pierce ~ Please continue to pray for Larry following his recent stroke. Larry has lost use of his left arm and left leg, but it appears he is making some progress in regaining their use. Larry is receiving treatment through Riverbend Hospital and is currently in a rehab center in Springfield until a bed in the rehab section of Riverbend Hospital opens.  For at least a few days you can reach Larry at 541-736-2824.

Pray Oregon Coast – This Friday!

Our next community “Pray Oregon Coast” will be hosted at Shoreline Community Church 6:00pm this Friday.  We hope you can join us for a special evening of community prayer and worship.  It would be great to have a good turnout from the Shoreline family as we are the host church this month.

Patty Chard “Celebration Of Life”

Patty’s “Celebration Of Life” is scheduled for 1:00pm this Saturday at Shoreline Community Church.  Please be in prayer for Patty’s son Steven and grandson Kiley.

Mission 119:11

Children Preschool through 6th Grade are invited to join us for Mission 119:11 each Wednesday evening at 6:30pm.  Mission 119:11 is our Children’s midweek ministry.  If your children, grandchildren, or neighborhood children would like to have some great fun while at the same time receiving some good spiritual food, please be sure to bring them.

Pray Oregon Coast

Our next “Pray Oregon Coast” community prayer and worship event is scheduled for 6:00pm Friday, October 18th at Shoreline Community Church.  POC is made up of several local evangelical churches.  Please plan on joining us as Shoreline will be the host church this month and it would be great to have a good showing from our church family.

CEF Five Day Clubs

Child Evangelism Fellowship will be putting on a “5-Day Club” at Shoreline Community Church next week (June 24-28) from 10:00-11:30am.  If you have children, grandchildren, or neighborhood children interested (preschool – 6th Grade), please be sure to bring them to the church for this special time together.

Pray Oregon Coast Has Been Canceled

Pray Oregon Coast has been canceled for the month of June, our next POC is scheduled for 6:00pm Friday, July 19th at “The Family Life Center” in North Bend.

Karen Foster “Celebration Of Life”

“A Celebration Of Life” is scheduled for Karen Foster 2:00pm this Saturday at Shoreline Community Church.  Please keep Dave and the family in your prayers.

Baptisms

We currently have seven people who have expressed interest in being baptized.  If you are interested in following the Lord in water baptism by immersion, please let me know.

Mission Fundraiser

The South Coast Gospel Mission is doing a fundraiser to help with repairs at the mission.  Hats will be available for $25.00 in the back of the Sanctuary for anyone who would like to support this work.

Hello everyone, 

This weekend I plan to bring the message, “The Jerusalem Decree And Conflict Within The Ranks” from Acts 15:22-41; communion will follow.  Please read through the attached “Digging Deeper” Bible study notes before Sunday to get the most out of the message. 

Church History Class 

My church history class will resume at 10:00am on Friday, January 5th with “Martin Luther & The Anabaptists,” hope to see you there.   

NOTE: All Bible study groups are resuming this week, be sure to check one of them out. 

Mission 119:11  

Our mid-week Children’s Ministry “Mission 119:11” has resumed at 6:30pm on Wednesday evenings.  If you have children who are aged Preschool through 6th Grade, we invite you to bring them on Wednesday nights.  (Two adult Bible studies are available at the same time if you are interested in attending one of them.) For more information on this exciting Children’s Ministry, please call Jessie Barnard at 541-808-0902.

Note: This will include two new deacon candidates:  Tony Huber and Ryan Doyle. 

2)    An affirmation vote for the 2024 Church Budget. 

3)    Presentation and affirmation vote on our proposed expansion of the church sanctuary.  The proposed expansion would bring us to over 370 seats; we currently have 250.

Hello everyone, 

I hope that you had a Merry Christmas with family and friends.  Thank you to everyone who was involved in putting together our services last weekend, your efforts are and were greatly appreciated. 

Well, I am finally off jury duty; that makes my availability a little more reliable.  This weekend I play to bring the message, “Wise Men Will Seek Jesus” from Matthew 2:1-18.  Please read through the attached “Digging Deeper” Bible study notes before Sunday to get the most out of the message.   

Church History Class 

My church history class will be cancelled for tomorrow (Friday, December 29th); class will resume at 10:00am on Friday, January 5th with the study: “Martin Luther & The Anabaptists.” 

NOTE: Remember all Bible study groups will be resuming next week after several took time off for the Christmas/New Year’s break. 

Hosting At Shore Acres 

Thank you to everyone who signed up to help tomorrow night, it looks like we have everyone we need.  If you are at Shore Acres tomorrow night, please be sure to drop by and say hi. 

MOPS (Mothers-Of-Preschoolers) 

MOPS will be resuming at 9:30am Tuesday, January 2nd.   If you are a young mother with school age children, please come and join this helpful and encouraging group.

Christmas Services

Hello everyone, 

This weekend I plan to bring the message, “The Incarnation” from Isa. 11:1-2/Matt. 1:18-25; please read through the attached “Digging Deeper” Bible study notes before Sunday to get the most out of the message.  We hope you can join us for two very special Christmas services on Sunday morning and then a Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion Sunday night.   

Please, please, please be inviting people to attend the Christmas services with you.  There will be over 500 seats available with the two services, we will also have the overflow room open.  Christmas and Resurrection Sunday are the two days of the year visitors are most likely to attend, so why not reach out and invite someone? 

Here’s how the schedule looks for this Sunday: 

  • 7:30am All Church Prayer Time in room 101 
  • 8:30am First Christmas Service 
  • 10:00am Sunday School Hour 
  • 11:00am Second Christmas Service 
  • 6:00pm Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion
