Important Shoreline Updates

Hi everyone,

This weekend, I plan to bring the message, “The Benefits Of Our Justification In Christ” from Romans 5:1-11; communion will follow.  I hope you are enjoying our chapter-by-chapter verse-by-verse study through the Book of Romans.  To get the most out of Sunday’s message, please spend some time in the attached “Digging Deeper” Bible study notes before Sunday.

Mission 119:11 – 6:30pm Tonight (Midweek-Children’s Ministry)

Children (preschool – 6th Grade) are invited to join us tonight for “Mission 119:11.”  Children should come expecting lots of fun and excitement and a great time in God’s Word, tonight’s theme will be “Drive-In-Movie Theater Night.”  We hope to see you can join us tonight at Mission for an evening of fun.

TPUSA At The Egyptian Theater

Turning Point USA is holding “An American Values Tour” at 7:00pm tomorrow (Thursday) night at the Egyptian Theater in Coos Bay.  Pastor Isaiah will be one of the youth ministry speakers and plans to bring a short message on “The Gospel And Community.”  Tickets must be purchased through the Egyptian Theater website, if they are sold out there, I’ve been told there may be a few tickets available at the door.  There will most-likely be many protesters at this event, if you attend, I want to remind you to act like Christians realizing some will be there trying to cause a scene so as to disrupt the event.

Building Update

Lots of work has been going on at the church this week.  Adding a little more than 25% in size to the Sanctuary size has triggered the requirement for us to bring the entire Sanctuary, inside and out, up to current State fire codes; churches are considered commercial buildings. The original Sanctuary is 70 years old, so we must bring it up to code.  As a result, we are doing additional Sheetrocking both inside and outside of the church.  Unfortunately, meeting these codes means we will have to redo a portion of the outside work.  This weekend, our bathrooms have been affected by the work so we won’t have as many stalls available as usual, but we will have enough to meet our needs.  The elders have brought on contractor Doug Cole and his team, they are working hard and doing an excellent job of bringing us up to the current State fire codes in a timely manner.

Annual Church Business Meeting

Our Annual Church Business Meeting is scheduled for immediately after church on Sunday, February 8th.  The elders will be asking the congregation to affirm the following individuals to serve in the noted offices throughout 2026, and also to approve the 2026 church budget for the amount of $500,000.00.

Elders:

Harry Abel

Jim Brown

Kip Johnson

Bob Pedigo

Tom Trammel

Deacons:

Phil Bogs

Roger Dunithan

Tony Huber

Les Kaye

Pat Myers

Bill Steevens

Buddy Young (New)

Note:  If you have a reason why one of these men should not serve in the office of elder or deacon, now is your opportunity to come forward and let us know.  In order to serve in 2026, each elder and deacon candidate is required to receive at least an 80% affirmation from the church members present at the Annual Church Business Meeting. Although an elder, as the lead pastor, I do not stand before the congregation every year but answer directly to the board of elders.

Frontline Bowling (Middle School and High School Students)

Frontline’s Bowling outing has changed time and dates due to a conflict.  The new time and date of the event is Saturday, January 31st from 6:45pm to 8:45pm.  If you want to ride the church van, please be at the church no later than 6:15pm.  For more information, call Pastor Isaiah at 541-808-0902.

Free Bed Frame

Janell Logan is offering a free queen size bedframe with drawers to anyone interested;

she did say there is no headboard.  If you are interested, either contact Janell, or let me know and I’ll pass the information on to her.

I look forward to seeing you this weekend, may God bless you with an awesome week in the Lord as you walk closely with Him!

Coming This Weekend!

Hello everyone,

This weekend I plan to bring the message, “Justified By Faith Alone” from Romans 4:1-16.  Please read through the attached “Digging Deeper” Bible study notes before Sunday to get the most out of the teaching.

Church Survey

The elders are prayerfully and strategically looking ahead to the future of the church, and we would like to listen to the voices of our congregation.  Proverbs tells us that plans succeed with wise counsel, and we believe your perspective matters as part of our shared discernment.  In an attempt to do so, we have developed a brief survey for you to answer.  This survey is one way we are seeking to understand how God has been shaping, challenging, and encouraging you in this season – not to count opinions, but to listen well and steward the future faithfully.  There will be a short presentation on the survey by Josh Harlukowicz this Sunday at the end of our church service.  The findings will be shared at our Annual Church Business Meeting after church on Sunday, February 8th.   Note: We will be taking this survey for the next two weeks in order to get as many people as possible.

Pray Oregon Coast

Our next Pray Oregon Coast community prayer and worship event is scheduled for 6:00pm Friday, January 16th at “The Refuge.”  The Refuge Church is located in downtown Coos Bay right next to Dairy Queen.  Hope to see you there!

Mary Jane Mikulecky “Celebration of Life”

A “Celebration of Life” will be held for Mary Jane Mikulecky at 1:00pm this Saturday, January 17th at Shoreline Community Church.  We hope you can join us as we remember this very special lady and celebrate the life she lived.  Please be in prayer for Larry, Mary Jane’s son Rand, and the rest of the family.

Important Updates And SCC Reports

Hello everyone,

This weekend we continue our study through the Book of Acts with the message, “The Raising Of Eutychus From The Dead” from Acts 20:1-17.  Attached you will find your Digging Deeper Bible study notes.

Good Friday And Resurrection Day Services Report

On Good Friday and Resurrection Day Sunday, were blessed to have over 400 people worship with us at Shoreline Community Church for our three services – PTL!  Thank you for being faithful in inviting people to attend church with you.

Exciting Times!

Preliminary projects for the expansion of our church sanctuary have begun. The new expansion will add 122 more seats to our sanctuary.  From now on you will see small steps as we prepare for the expansion project this summer.  The building project will allow us to seat 370 people for church each Sunday morning.

Baptism Service Coming – Sunday, April 21st

Congratulations to Nancy Sheppard and Michelle Oberbeek on their baptisms last Sunday.  More people are requesting to be baptized, as a result, we are lining up another baptism service on Sunday, April 21st.  If you have never followed the Lord in water baptism and would like to, please let me know as soon as possible.

Creative Parking

Just a reminder that we encourage people to park all the way down by the church office. If you are willing to make the walk, we can park eight vehicles in the parking lot next to the church office and many more on the lawn.  Each person who parks creatively opens a space in the parking lot for one of our visitors.

Overflow Room

We have a live feed of the service in the Passover Room each Sunday with coffee and treats available for you.  Some folks like to go into the back of the sanctuary for worship, then go into the Overflow Room where they can spread out for the teaching. This has really helped us with seating for newcomers on Sundays.  It was a blessing to have 20 people worshiping in the Overflow Room this past weekend.

Visitors

If you are blessed by worshiping at Shoreline, please be inviting other people to join you at church.  Your excitement is contagious and will help bring others to hear the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Ladies Retreat (Camp Fir Point)

Our “Ladies Retreat” is scheduled for May 3rd – 5th at Camp Fir Point in Glendale, OR.  The cost for the event will be $100.00 per person (talk to Stef if financial help is needed).  This year’s theme will be, “From the Cord to the Cross” brought to us by special speaker Patty Alexander. Our food this year will be catered by Penny Laine’s Gourmet Secrets.  We ask that you sign up in the back of the sanctuary if you are interested in going.  (Please put your check/cash in a labeled envelope into the offering box with “Ladies Retreat” written on it.) For more questions, call Stefanie Ahlers at 541-297-2899.

George Gebhardt “Celebration Of Life”

George Gebhardt’s “Celebration Of Life” is scheduled for 11:00am this Saturday at the church.  We invite you to join this time as we remember George’s life.  Please keep Libby in your prayers as this has been difficult for her.

Point Man Ministries

Calling all veterans!  If you are a veteran of the Armed Forces, we encourage you to join “Point Man Ministries” 6:00pm each Tuesday in room 101 at the church.

Church History

I hope you can join me each Friday at 10:00am in the Passover Room as we journey through Church History. This Friday we will be taking a look at “The Puritans In New England.”

Young Adult Bible Study

What a blessing to see 37 people in the Passover Room for our Young Adult Bible Study last night; if we include the children, it was well over 50.  I praise the Lord for what He is doing with these young adults 6:30pm every Tuesday as we work through a series on “Systematic Theology.”  If you are in the 18-40 range, we invite you to join us.

Have a great week as you walk closely with Jesus.  I look forward to seeing you this Sunday!

Big Weekend Coming Up!

Hello everyone,

This weekend we resume our study through the Book of Acts with the message, “The Riot At Ephesus” from Acts 19:21-41.  Attached you will find your teaching and Digging Deeper Bible study notes.

Creative Parking

Just a reminder that we encourage you to park all the way down by the church office if you can make the walk, we have the ability to park eight vehicles in the parking lot next to the office and many more on the lawn.  Each person who parks creatively opens up a space on the parking lot for one of our visitors.

Visitors

It is our hope and prayer that if a visitor walks in, he or she will feel welcome and won’t leave without being greeted by many people.  If you meet a visitor, please offer to introduce them to me before or after the service, sometimes it takes me a while to get to the back of the sanctuary.   Thank you for helping us by reaching out to new people and welcoming them to Shoreline.

Ladies Night Out

Our next Ladies Night Out is scheduled for 6:00pm this Friday in the Passover Room.  Ladies should come expecting an evening filled with fun and fellowship.

Men’s Breakfast

Our next Men’s Breakfast is scheduled for 9:00am this Saturday in the Passover Room.  Men can come expecting tasty food, great fellowship, and a lively discussion.  This month Mikey Turner will be our guest speaker.

Gospel Jubilee Open Mic Returns

Tom and Debbie Trammel have now returned from Arizona and will be hosting their first Gospel Jubilee Open Mic of the season 3:00pm this Sunday at the church.  We hope you can join Tom and Debbie for a great time of worshiping the Lord!  For more information, call Tom at 541-521-9596,

Have a great week as you walk closely with the Lord!

An Important update!

Hello everyone,

Today I tested positive for RSV so will not be able to be at church this weekend.  The quarantine period for this is 7 to 10 days.  Dale Cooper (a frequent speaker at other churches and who recently preached at Shoreline) will be filling in for me this weekend.

Church History Class

Larry Pierce will be leading my Church History class tomorrow 10:00am in the Passover Room.

Next weekend I plan to bring the message, “The Ministry Of Paul In Ephesus” from Acts 19:1-20; I’ve attached the “Digging Deeper” Bible study notes for you so you can begin preparing your hearts for the message.

Daylight Savings Time

Remember this Sunday is Daylight Savings Time, that means we spring forward and will have to get up an hour earlier.  

Overflow Room and Parking

Thank you to everyone who has been using the overflow room on Sunday mornings, I have heard good reports from people who have been using it.  Thank you also to everyone who is parking creatively and using the lawn next to the church office.  Everyone who parks on the lawn opens up one extra space for a visitor.   Parking is encouraged all the way down to the church office.

Women’s Spring Luncheon

Dear SCC ladies,

Please join us from 11:30 to 1:00, Saturday, March 9th, for our Ladies Soup & Salad Luncheon!

In addition to good food and fellowship, Liz Turman will be encouraging us with this thought: “Here I Am, Send Me!” The signup sheet for this event is in the back of the auditorium. On it you will find a place to let us know what you can bring. Please let us know if you are coming and how many will be with you. This is important information for our planners, decorators, and setup crew!  Thank you and hope to see you there!  Praising with you! – Stef Ahlers

Questions? Please get a hold of Stef at ahlers2u@gmail.com

Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday Services

Shoreline Community Church will be hosting a “Good Friday Service” at 6:00pm on Friday, March 29th.  Our “Resurrection Day Services” will be at 8:30 and 11:00am on Sunday, March 31st with Sunday School at 10:00am.

  • Please be praying about whom you can invite to church with you.

Perfumes and Colognes

I would like to send a kind reminder not to wear perfumes, colognes, oils, (super strong soaps & strong deodorants).  We have people (including those in leadership with key positions on Sunday) who are highly allergic to these items.  Please remember your liberties may cause a brother or sister to have a horrible day, even having difficulty catching their breath.

Men’s Retreat

Our Shoreline “Men’s Retreat” is scheduled for March 15-17th at Camp Fir Point in Glendale, Oregon.  Cost for the weekend will be $100.00 per man.  If you need a scholarship, please let Dave Foster know.  Men, I look forward to seeing you at the retreat.

Note: There are signup sheets for the Men’s Retreat on the table in the back of the Sanctuary.

Pray Oregon Coast

Our next “Pray Oregon Coast is scheduled forFriday, March 15 at The Family Life Center Church of God in North Bend. We hope you can attend.

Creative Parking

Thanks to everyone who has been parking on the big lawn by the church office on Sundays, it has opened up several parking spaces.  Every space we can open up in our parking lot is another space for a visitor.  The visitors tend to drive off if there are no open parking spaces left, lets’ see what we can do to welcome our visitors and make them feel welcome.  Please feel free to park on the lawn all the way down to the church office.

Overflow Room During Church Service

If the Sanctuary gets too crowded for you, we have opened the Passover Room as an overflow room Sunday mornings.  Last Sunday we had eleven people in the overflow room where we are livestreaming the service on our large 65” television set.  I encourage people to stand at the back of the Sanctuary for the worship music, and then drift over to the Passover Room for the livestream broadcast if you want to spread out.  Harry and Carolyn will be hosting in the Passover Room and are happy to offer you coffee and deserts.

Lots Of News To Share!

Hello everyone,

This Sunday I plan to bring the message, “Reconciliation With God Through Christ” from 2 Corinthians 5:10-21; please read through the attached “Digging Deeper” Bible study notes before Sunday to get the most out of the message.  Special thanks to daughter Jessie for filling in for Stefanie in the leading of our worship music last Sunday and to Mikey Turner for filling in for me with the preaching.  It feels good to be back home in North Bend and away from all of the congestion and lifestyle of the San Francisco Bay Area.

Note:  I went early to church in Fremont, CA early last week to attend Bible Study, the church was massive and right in the center of about 500,000 people.  I couldn’t find a single Bible study in this huge church (one of the few Christian churches around) on Sunday morning as I walked through the entire structure and when I asked about it, one of the worship leaders said, “Oh, we have no need for Bible Study here.”  Need I say more?  (They do have 4 or 5 Life Groups during the week.)  We are blessed to have 18+ Bible studies each week hereat our little church – Praise The Lord! I hope you are taking advantage of them.

Overflow Room During Church Service

If the Sanctuary gets too full, we have the Passover Room serving as an overflow room with the large 65” TV broadcasting a livestream of the church service.  Elder Harry Abel said that he will be hosting in the Passover Room.  I encourage people to stand in the back of the Sanctuary if you want to engage with the worship music, then join Harry in the Passover Room for the livestream broadcast of the teaching with coffee and deserts in the overflow room.

Important Updates!

Hi everyone,

This weekend I plan to bring the message, “A Major Change In Direction” from Acts 10:1-23.  Please read through the attached “Digging Deeper” Bible study notes before Sunday to get the most out of the message. Sunday looks like it is going to be another beautiful day on the lawn.

Note: We have started broadcasting the service each Sunday live in the Passover Room on our new 65” Samsung TV for those of you who would prefer to watch indoors.

Lunch Sunday:  This Sunday, Jeff and Diana St. Clair along with the team will be serving us quesadillas following our outdoor service for lunch.  We hope you can join us for another great worship service and delicious meal following.  Please be sure to thank them for the great job they are doing.

Possible Expansion

The elders are praying about the possibility of expanding our current Sanctuary by over 100 seats, moving our kitchen, and expanding the Passover Room.  Please be in prayer about this possibility as we do the preliminary research.  An expansion on the north side of our facility would bring us up to almost 400 seats and open up additional possibilities to minister.

Church History Class

Please consider joining me for our weekly Church History class each Friday morning at 10:00am in the Passover Room.

Pray Oregon Coast

Our next “Pray Oregon Coast” community prayer and worship event is scheduled for 6:00pm Friday, August 18th at “The Refuge” church next to the Dairy Queen in Coos Bay.  We hope you can join us!

Note: We will be holding a special “Pray Oregon Coast” 6:00pm Friday, September 1st at “The South Coast Gospel Meeting.”  This prayer meeting will coincide and counter the Satanic event that will be going on at the Pony Village Mall.

Women’s Sewing Group

Our next “Women’s Sewing Group” is scheduled for this Saturday, August 19th in the Passover Room.  The event will run from 10:00am – 2:00pm.  We hope you can join the ladies!

Frontline Sandboarding Outing And Baptism

Our “Frontline Youth Ministry” will be holding a sandboard outing and baptism Saturday, August 19th at Hall Lake.  The group will be leaving from the church at 10:30am; Violet Ciccarelli will follow the Lord in water baptism at the lake shortly after 11:00am.

Hangana Moving Party

Desmond and Kristal Hangana will be moving into their new home this weekend.  They could use any help they can get.  If you are interested in helping, please call Kristal at 541-808-0902.

All-Church Work Party

Our next “All-Church Work Party” is scheduled for Saturday, August 26th at the church.  We are in desperate need of young men to climb the hill and help us pull out the scotch broom by chain.  Gordon Bridgham has several projects lined up and we need volunteers for all of them. The work party is scheduled to begin at 8:00am and continue until the projects are completed.  Please come for whatever amount of time you can.

Mission 119:11

Mission 119:11 will be returning to Shoreline at 6:30pm Wednesday, September 20th.  The training to serve in this ministry will start two weeks earlier.  It looks like just about all of our leadership team from last year will be returning; that says a lot for a ministry.  If you are interested in helping this year, please contact Jessie at 541-808-0902.

Men’s Roundup

I will be leading a group of men from our church to Men’s Roundup September 8th through 10th.  Camp Tadmor is located just a few miles from the city of Sweet Home.  If you are interested in checking out this event, please go to the following link:  www.mensroundup.com.  If you would like to attend with me, please let me know!

We look forward to worshiping with you this weekend.  Please join us for our prayer meeting at 8:30am, Sunday School at 9:30am, and worship on the lawn at 10:30am.

News For you!

Hi everyone,

This weekend I plan to bring the message, “The Church Begins To Grow” from Acts 9:23-43; please read through the attached “Digging Deeper” Bible study notes before Sunday to get the most out of the message.

Lunch Sunday:  This Sunday Jeff St. Clair and the team will be serving ham and cheese sandwiches following our outdoor service.  Thanks to everyone who has been involved in our lunches, what great job they have been doing with our meals.

Congratulations!

Congratulations to Karen Freeman, Sun Bennett, Rod Chestnut, and Brianna Thompson for following the Lord in water baptism last Sunday.  Please be sure to congratulate each of them when you see them.

Upcoming Baptism Service

We have already had another request to be baptized. If you are interested in following the Lord in water baptism, please let me know as soon as possible, we will be doing another service in the next couple of weeks.

Satanic Trouble In The Community

The Pony Village Mall will be hosting “Paranormal Cirque II” September 1st-11th with the support of the city of North Bend.  This live circus tent performance is highly Satanic in nature with visible Satanic objects of worship; it is a danger to the citizens of our county.  I encourage you to look up “Paranormal Cirque II” online to see what we are dealing with.  We will be investigating our options, both the city and the mall are saying they have to let them come in because you cannot discriminate.  I will let you know more as I know more.

Camp Good News

Please continue to pray for Jessie and all of our students at Camp Good News, the weeklong camp will be ending tomorrow.  Please pray for the final day along with the travel home.

Free Couch

Kelly Dasher has a long brown fabric couch for anyone interested.  If you would like to know more, please send me an email.
