News For you!

Hello everyone,

I hope you are enjoying this beautiful day today; it looks like we have several days of rain starting this Saturday so we have to enjoy it right now.  We have a special service lined up this Sunday at Shoreline, I will be bringing the message, “A Taste Of Heaven” from Ephesians 5:22-33; baptisms will follow.  Note:  Pastor Dave Rymer will be baptizing two of his grandchildren before his son (in the National Guard) is deployed overseas.  I hope you can be there in support of Pastor Dave.  Please read through the attached “Digging Deeper” Bible study notes before Sunday to get the most out of the message.

Baptism Service This Sunday

We will be doing our next baptism service this Sunday immediately following the message.  If you have never followed the Lord in being baptized by immersion and would like to be, please let me know as soon as possible.

Veteran’s Day Lunch @ North Bend High School (Saturday)

The annual Veteran’s Day lunch at North Bend High School is scheduled for this Saturday in the school cafeteria, doors will open at 11:30am.  I hope our veterans can be there to interact with other veterans in our community and support this great ministry put on by SOVO (Southwestern Oregon Veteran’s Outreach).

30-Days Of Prayer Card

Attached you will find the link to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association’s “30-Days of Prayer For The Nation” prayer card.

Building Update – Thank You!

Our sanctuary extension has been moving along quickly, the building frame is up now. Roger Dunithan is currently working on the electrical on the inside (thanks Roger for the many hours that you have volunteered to this project).  Both the insulation and the sheet rock are now going up.  The framing for the seating area has begun, when completed it will be like theater seating looking over the sound booth.  Thank you for your generous financial donations to Shoreline Community Church, through your generosity we have gotten this far without having to use any borrowed money so far.

Mission 119:11 (Wednesdays)

Our midweek children’s ministry “Mission 119:11” has been going strong on Wednesday nights at 6:30pm.  If your children, grandchildren, or neighborhood children Preschool through sixth grade would like to attend, please bring them on Wednesday nights to join this exciting children’s ministry.

An Important Update!

Hello everyone,

This weekend I plan to bring the message, “Do You Feel Like The Odds Are Stacked Against You?” from Judges 7:1-25.  Please read through the attached “Digging Deeper” Bible study notes before Sunday to get the most out of the message; communion will follow.  Please be praying about whom you can invite to church.

Daylight Savings Time

Please don’t forget that this Sunday we fall back, that means we get an extra hour of sleep.

Critical Shortage

We are critically short on people willing to work Sundays with our children.  Things are so bad right now that the leaders in two areas of our children’s ministry want to step down because people won’t volunteer, they are totally drained.  As I said on Sunday, “I can’t preach and take care of our Children’s Ministry too.”  Note: I have already had to give up one of my adult classes and take a Director position in Mission 119:11 (our mid-week Children’s Ministry) to help keep the ministry going.  Please pray about what your part might be in reaching out to those who are our most precious possession: our children.  We need your help one Sunday a month.  Note:  85% of the people who are going to come to faith in Christ do so between the ages of 4 & 14.  (Child Evangelism Fellowship statistics)

Ladies Night Out

Our next “Ladies Night Out” is scheduled for 6:00pm Friday, November 1st at Shoreline Community Church.  Ladies can come expecting lots of fun and some great fellowship.

Men’s Breakfast

Our next Men’s Breakfast is 9:00am this Saturday at Shoreline.  Men are invited to come for lots of tasty food, great fellowship, and a lively discussion following.

Gospel Jubilee Open Mic

The “Gospel Jubilee Open Mic” is coming up 3:00pm this Sunday at Shoreline.  We invite you to join Tom and Debbie Trammel along with the gang for a great time of worshiping the Lord.  If you would like to perform a Christian song, please call Tom at 541-521-3330.

MomCo

Young mothers are invited to attend our next MomCo (or Mom’s Community) meeting at Shoreline 9:30am Tuesday, November 5th (Childcare is available).

Please Vote

I have had the privilege of living in the United States since I was 8 years old, I am a “legal” immigrant.  I don’t know of a more important election in my lifetime than the one that will take place on Tuesday, November 5th.  In the United States we have the privilege of choosing our leaders, we shouldn’t take that lightly as not every country has the opportunity to do so.  Please examine “the platform” of both parties to see how they will vote on the issues and then consider voting for the platform that will best hold up our Judeo-Christian values.  Don’t be sucked into personalities, look at each candidate to see how they will vote.  Note:  Cheryl and I have already voted and we hope you have too.

SCC Prayer Request

Larry Pierce ~ Please continue to pray for Larry following his recent stroke. Larry has lost use of his left arm and left leg, but it appears he is making some progress in regaining their use. Larry is receiving treatment through Riverbend Hospital and is currently in a rehab center in Springfield until a bed in the rehab section of Riverbend Hospital opens.  For at least a few days you can reach Larry at 541-736-2824.

I look forward to seeing you this Sunday at 10:30am!

(Remember, Prayer Time is at 8:30am in Room 101; Sunday School is at 9:30am with three adult electives; and as always, church is at 10:30am.)

Big Weekend Coming Up!

Hello everyone,

This weekend we resume our study through the Book of Acts with the message, “The Riot At Ephesus” from Acts 19:21-41.  Attached you will find your teaching and Digging Deeper Bible study notes.

Creative Parking

Just a reminder that we encourage you to park all the way down by the church office if you can make the walk, we have the ability to park eight vehicles in the parking lot next to the office and many more on the lawn.  Each person who parks creatively opens up a space on the parking lot for one of our visitors.

Overflow Room

We have a live feed of the service in the Passover Room each Sunday with coffee and treats available for you.  Some folks like to go into the back of the sanctuary for worship, then go into the Overflow Room where they can spread out for the teaching. This has really helped us with seating for newcomers on Sundays.

Visitors

It is our hope and prayer that if a visitor walks in, he or she will feel welcome and won’t leave without being greeted by many people.  If you meet a visitor, please offer to introduce them to me before or after the service, sometimes it takes me a while to get to the back of the sanctuary.   Thank you for helping us by reaching out to new people and welcoming them to Shoreline.

Ladies Night Out

Our next Ladies Night Out is scheduled for 6:00pm this Friday in the Passover Room.  Ladies should come expecting an evening filled with fun and fellowship.

Men’s Breakfast

Our next Men’s Breakfast is scheduled for 9:00am this Saturday in the Passover Room.  Men can come expecting tasty food, great fellowship, and a lively discussion.  This month Mikey Turner will be our guest speaker.

Gospel Jubilee Open Mic Returns

Tom and Debbie Trammel have now returned from Arizona and will be hosting their first Gospel Jubilee Open Mic of the season 3:00pm this Sunday at the church.  We hope you can join Tom and Debbie for a great time of worshiping the Lord!  For more information, call Tom at 541-521-9596,

Ladies Retreat (Camp Fir Point)

Our “Ladies Retreat” is scheduled for May 3rd – 5th at Camp Fir Point in Glendale, OR.  The cost for the event will be $100.00 per person (talk to Stef if financial help is needed).  This year’s theme will be, “From the Cord to the Cross” brought to us by special speaker Patty Alexander. Our food this year will be catered by Penny Laine’s Gourmet Secrets.  We ask that you sign up in the back of the sanctuary if you are interested in going.  (Please put your check/cash in a labeled envelope into the offering box with “Ladies Retreat” written on it.) For more questions, call Stefanie Ahlers at 541-297-2899.

Have a great week as you walk closely with the Lord!

Baptism

We have one baptism lined up for after the message this weekend.  If you would like to follow the Lord in water baptism and have yet to do it, please let me know as soon as possible.

Now Is A Great Time To Invite Friends

As we approach Resurrection Sunday, now is a great time to begin inviting people to attend church with you.  Family, friends, and acquaintances are much more likely to accept your invitation this time of year, and who knows, God may use you in bringing someone to Christ by doing so.  It was an unwanted invite to Resurrection Sunday that brought me to Christ, so who knows?

Church Phone

Our church phone is down and will probably be down for the next week. If you need to contact the church in the meantime, please contact us by using 541-297-1571.  We are in the process of changing providers.

Ladies’ Night Out

This Friday is “Ladies’ Night Out!” Get ready for a jigsaw puzzle competition! The women will be gathering into teams of four to complete a thousand-piece Jigsaw puzzle. Don’t worry there’s a table created just for leisure too. Be prepared to come with snacks to share and get ready for a fun night of puzzling beginning at six. RSVP: Nikki Greenwell@bigsisrandle@icloud.com.

Men’s Breakfast

Our next Men’s Breakfast is scheduled for 9:00am this Saturday at Shoreline.  Men are invited to join us for some delicious food, great fellowship, and a lively discussion on a spiritual topic that relates to men.

Ladies’ Spring Luncheon

Our “Ladies’ Spring Luncheon” is scheduled for Saturday, March 9th at the church, please put it on your calendar.  Special guest speaker will be Liz Turman.  Alex and Liz attended Shoreline before Alex was called to be the pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Coquille.

SCC Prayer Request:

Juany Rehling ~ Juany sent a prayer request to me from a friend or hers asking for prayer for her 30-year-old daughter Ashley.  “Dialysis last evening a little long. Then last night she couldn’t catch breath so got put on machine and sent ICU. So now in ICU until further treatment.   Am so scared, I can’t lose my baby, I would rather go! God take me not Ashley.”

Kim Collings ~ Please continue to pray for Kim after undergoing major surgery in Texas this week.

I look forward to seeing each of you at one or more of our many activities this weekend.  Then come Sunday expecting a special time of worship music and teaching in the Word!

Important Updates!

Hello everyone,

This Sunday I plan to bring the message, “The Acts Of The Apostle Paul” from Acts 12:20-13:13; please read through the attached “Digging Deeper” Bible study notes before Sunday to get the most out of the message.

Note:  We will have an important message Sunday at the end of the service in regard to a change in our church staff.

Pray Oregon Coast

Our next “Pray Oregon Coast” event is scheduled for 6:00pm this Friday at Shoreline Community Church.  Please join us for this community event of worship and prayer.  As the host church, it would be nice to have a good showing from our church family at Shoreline.  As we look at the world around us, what better time to pray?

Creative Parking

We encourage you to please park creatively on Sunday mornings.  The lawn is available for parking on just like we do with our summer outdoor services.  If you are healthy enough, please park all the way down the driveway leading to the church office.  Every space we can open up in our parking lot is another space for a visitor.  The visitors tend to drive off if there are no open parking spaces, lets’ see what we can do to open up more spaces.  Please do everything you can to make the visitors feel welcome, we have had plenty in recent weeks.

Overflow Room During Church Service

If the Sanctuary gets too full, we have the Passover Room serving as an overflow room with the large 65” TV broadcasting a livestream of the church service.  Elder Harry Abel said that he will be hosting in the Passover Room.  I encourage people to stand in the back of the Sanctuary if you want to engage with the worship music, then join Harry in the Passover Room for the livestream broadcast of the teaching with coffee and deserts in the overflow room.

I received the following email from Susan Cornell, if you can help with this need, please let me know:

Thank you so much for the men showing up to help with the leaky roof over the apartment.. Boy, was I surprised to find the bubbling paint around my light over the kitchen table and a puddle on the floor on Monday. Thank you so much for Bill Stevens!

We have an amazing church family.

Thank you Lord Jesus Christ.
