An Important Update!

Hello everyone,

This weekend I plan to bring the message, “Paul Arrested On The Temple Grounds” from Acts 21:26-22:8.  Please read through the attached “Digging Deeper” Bible study notes before Sunday to get the most out of the message.

Change Of Plans – No Outdoor Worship

The elders have decided not to worship outside this summer, our worship services will continue to meet inside the church sanctuary with the possible exception of one Sunday this Summer.  Although there were many reasons for this decision, the primary reason is the construction has left the area much smaller and very dusty.  It only takes the slightest wind to stir up the dust, which would make for an unpleasant experience outside.  Thank you for your understanding!

Baptism Service This Weekend

We’ve had another request for baptism this weekend.  If you have yet to following the Lord Jesus in water baptism and would like to this Sunday, please contact me as soon as possible.

Pray Oregon Coast – Tomorrow

Our next “Pray Oregon Coast” worship and prayer event is scheduled for 6:00pm tomorrow (Friday, July 19th) at “The Family Life Center” at Newmark and Brussells in North Bend.  I hope you can join Pastor David and me there.

The PPC “Walk For Life”

The Pacific Pregnancy Clinic will be holding its annual “Walk For Life Fundraiser” 5:00pm Tuesday, August 6th at Mingus Park.  We hope you can join many of your Shoreline family in attending and supporting this worthy event.

Inviting Your Friend

Just a reminder, the reasons people visit a church are as follows:  A friend invited me – 86%; Organized visitation – 6%; Pastor invite – 6%; Advertising – 2%.  Add the invites from friends and pastors together and that equals 92% of visitors come because somebody invited them.  Please be praying about whom you can invite this weekend.

I look forward to seeing you indoors this Sunday at 10:30am; prayer is at 8:30am in Room 101; and Sunday school is at 9:30am with three adult electives.

An Important Update

Hello everyone,

This weekend I plan to bring the message, “Out Of The Prison Cell And Into True Life” from Acts 16:16-40.  Please read through the attached “Digging Deeper” Bible study notes before Sunday to get the most out of the message.  Special thanks to Dale Cooper for an outstanding message in my absence, what a blessing to leave on vacation and see the church run so smoothly.

Note: Cheryl and I were supposed to be gone on vacation this week but were caught in icemageddon and didn’t make it to Hawaii. On the way to the airport, we spent the night on Highway 5 stranded in the car in subfreezing temperatures.  We made it no further than Creswell and it took us until Tuesday afternoon before we could finally make it back home. As a result, I ended my vacation early and will be back ministering at the church this week.

Thank you for everyone who attended Pray Oregon Coast at Shoreline Community Church last Friday.  It was a blessing to see over 100 people in attendance – Praise the Lord!

Creative Parking

Thanks to everyone who is parking on the big lawn by the church office on Sundays.  If you are healthy enough, we encourage you to park all the way down the driveway next to the church office.  Every space we can open up in our parking lot is another space for a visitor.  The visitors tend to drive off if there are no open parking spaces left, lets’ see what we can do to welcome our visitors and have them feel welcome.

Overflow Room During Church Service

If the Sanctuary gets too crowded for you, we have opened the Passover Room, and it is now serving as an overflow room Sunday mornings.  We are livestreaming the service on our large 65” television set.  Elder Harry Abel said that he will be hosting in the Passover Room.  I encourage people to stand at the back of the Sanctuary for the worship music, then spread out in the Passover Room for the livestream broadcast.  Harry will be happy to offer you coffee and deserts in the overflow room.

The Agape Meal Ministry

We are in need of people willing to supply meals for church families with special needs.  If you are interested, please let me know.

News For You!

Hello everyone,

This weekend I plan to bring the message, “This Is What God Has Done” from Acts 11:1-18; please read through the attached “Digging Deeper” Bible study notes before Sunday to get the most out of the message.  I hope you have been enjoying our series through the Book of Acts.  We have a surprise for you in the service this weekend that you won’t want to miss, I hope you will be blessed by what is shared.

Ladies Night Out

Our next “Ladies Night Out” is scheduled for 6:00pm this Friday (September 1st) in the Passover Room.  Ladies are encouraged to come expecting a great time of fellowship together.

Pray Oregon Coast

A special “Pray Oregon Coast” worship and prayer event has been called for 6:00pm Friday (September 1st) at the South Coast Gospel Mission.  The meeting has been moved up in September to coincide and counter the “Paranormal Cirque II” satanic stage show that is taking place at the Pony Village Mall.

Note: I noticed that “Paranormal Cirque II” have made a huge mistake that only the locals would know about; they have located the event at the Pony Village Mall and they have exposed the bottom of their tent to the elements, this will make it very uncomfortable for their patrons and performers if the fog and wind come in.  My prayer is that God will bring in the fog and wind for their evening performances.  May this little piece of hell freeze over.  Please be encouraging your family, friends, and neighbors not to attend this Satan honoring performance.

Men’s Breakfast

Our next Men’s Breakfast “will not” be this weekend.  The Men’s Breakfast has been moved to 9:00am Saturday, September 9th; Tony Huber will be our guest speaker.  Men are encouraged to join us for some tasty food, great fellowship, and a lively discussion.

Mission 119:11

Mission 119:11 (our Mid-week Children’s Ministry) will begin at 6:30pm Wednesday, September 20th.  Please be sure to invite your children, grandchildren, and neighborhood children to attend.  If you would like to help in this exciting ministry, call Jessie at 541-808-0902.  We will begin training our leadership team next Wednesday.

Please Welcome Pastoral Intern Mikey Turner

Mikey will be serving on staff as our pastoral intern for the next three months.  Mikey is just months away from graduating at Liberty University with a “Master of Divinity” degree.  Our hope is to give Mikey a well-rounded education of church life and ministry during this time of training.  Please be sure to welcome Mikey and his wife Kaitlynn as he comes on staff.  Note: Last Sunday Mikey wasn’t here because he was preaching at Allegany Community Church.

Men’s Roundup

I will be leading a group of men to “Men’s Roundup” September 8-10 at Camp Tadmor.  If you are interested in attending, please let me know, this is the largest Men’s Christian Conference in the Northwest drawing over 1,000 men.  The event does require dry camping.

Have a blessed week in the Lord.  I look forward to seeing you this Sunday, remember, we are back indoors now.  Prayer time is at 8:30am; Sunday School at 9:30am; Church is at 10:30am.

Hi everyone,

This weekend I plan to bring the message, “A Major Change In Direction” from Acts 10:1-23.  Please read through the attached “Digging Deeper” Bible study notes before Sunday to get the most out of the message. Sunday looks like it is going to be another beautiful day on the lawn.

Lunch Sunday:  This Sunday, Jeff and Diana St. Clair along with the team will be serving us quesadillas following our outdoor service for lunch.  We hope you can join us for another great worship service and delicious meal following.  Please be sure to thank them for the great job they are doing.

Possible Expansion

The elders are praying about the possibility of expanding our current Sanctuary by over 100 seats, moving our kitchen, and expanding the Passover Room.  Please be in prayer about this possibility as we do the preliminary research.  An expansion on the north side of our facility would bring us up to almost 400 seats and open up additional possibilities to minister.

Church History Class

Please consider joining me for our weekly Church History class each Friday morning at 10:00am in the Passover Room.

Pray Oregon Coast

Our next “Pray Oregon Coast” community prayer and worship event is scheduled for 6:00pm Friday, August 18th at “The Refuge” church next to the Dairy Queen in Coos Bay.  We hope you can join us!

Note: We will be holding a special “Pray Oregon Coast” 6:00pm Friday, September 1st at “The South Coast Gospel Meeting.”  This prayer meeting will coincide and counter the Satanic event that will be going on at the Pony Village Mall.

Desmond and Kristal Hangana will be moving into their new home this weekend.  They could use any help they can get.  If you are interested in helping, please call Kristal at 541-808-0902.

All-Church Work Party

Our next “All-Church Work Party” is scheduled for Saturday, August 26th at the church.  We are in desperate need of young men to climb the hill and help us pull out the scotch broom by chain.  Gordon Bridgham has several projects lined up and we need volunteers for all of them. The work party is scheduled to begin at 8:00am and continue until the projects are completed.  Please come for whatever amount of time you can.

Mission 119:11

Mission 119:11 will be returning to Shoreline at 6:30pm Wednesday, September 20th.  The training to serve in this ministry will start two weeks earlier.  It looks like just about all of our leadership team from last year will be returning; that says a lot for a ministry.  If you are interested in helping this year, please contact Jessie at 541-808-0902.

Men’s Roundup

I will be leading a group of men from our church to Men’s Roundup September 8th through 10th.  Camp Tadmor is located just a few miles from the city of Sweet Home.  If you are interested in checking out this event, please go to the following link:  www.mensroundup.com.  If you would like to attend with me, please let me know!

We look forward to worshiping with you this weekend.  Please join us for our prayer meeting at 8:30am, Sunday School at 9:30am, and worship on the lawn at 10:30am.

Satanic Trouble In The Community

The Pony Village Mall will be hosting “Paranormal Cirque II” September 1st-11th with the support of the city of North Bend.  This live circus tent performance is highly Satanic in nature with visible Satanic objects of worship; it is a danger to the citizens of our county.  I encourage you to look up “Paranormal Cirque II” online to see what we are dealing with.  We will be investigating our options, both the city and the mall are saying they have to let them come in because you cannot discriminate.  I will let you know more as I know more.

Camp Good News

Please continue to pray for Jessie and all of our students at Camp Good News, the weeklong camp will be ending tomorrow.  Please pray for the final day along with the travel home.

Annual Church Business Meeting

Our Annual Church Business Meeting is scheduled for Sunday, February 5th just 15 minutes after the morning service ends.  We will be asking church members to affirm the following elders and deacons for 2023:

  • Elders:  Harry Abel, Jim Brown, Kip Johnson, Bob Pedigo, and Tom Trammel
  • Deacons: Phil Bogs, Bryan Davidson, Frank DeSpain, Roger Dunithan, Les Kaye, Pat Myers, Bill Steevens, Max Thompson, and Desmond Hangana.

We will also be asking the church membership to approve our 2023 Church Budget which will be for the amount of $360,000.00.  After 16 years the elders have also completed revisions on our Church Constitution and Statement of Faith.  The purpose of revising the Statement of Faith is fourfold: 1) Clarifying issues that aren’t written clearly and that we have been challenged on in the past; 2) Making the document rock solid doctrinally; 3) Making the Statement of Faith easy to read and understandable for the lay person; and 4) Making a document that is almost worshipful in reading.  The meeting will have a Q & A time before voting.

I look forward to seeing you this Sunday.  Have a blessed week in the Lord as you walk closely with Him!
