His commandments, and His commandments
are not grievous.” (1 John 5:3).
The only time that God’s commandments
are grievous – is when I want my will more
than His will.

This weekend Pastor Mike Barnard plans to bring the message “Who Is The True Jew?” from Romans 2:17-29; please read through the attached Digging Deeper Bible study notes before Sunday to get the most out of the message.
We hope you can join us this Sunday at 8:30 or 11:00am; Sunday School is at 10:00am. All services are broadcast live on the Shoreline Community Church, North Bend facebook page and through our website at shorelinecc.us (sermons link). Hope to see you this Sunday!
What Radical believers See:
When everyone saw a giant – David saw a midget! (1 Samuel 17:43-47).
When everyone saw lions – Daniel saw kitty cats! (Daniel 6:16-33).
When everyone saw fire – three Jews saw Jesus! (Daniel 3:25).
When Elisha’s servant saw the enemy rising up – Elisha saw horses
and chariots of fire round about them! (2 Kings 6:14-17).
When everyone saw the cross – Jesus saw the crown! (Acts 7:56).
“Make thee an ark … the length of the ark shall be
three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits,
and the height of it thirty cubits” (Genesis 6:14-15).
The people of Noah’s day no doubt thought that
he was some kind of religious nut-cake. But he did.
He built an ark 450 ft. x 75ft. x 45ft. Yes, and he did
it with a handful of unskilled workers; they didn’t
even have a blueprint to work off of. The Lord God
eventually sent a flood and destroyed all of the
people. But He does have a blueprint for living
(the Bible). It is too bad that more people do not
read it.
“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of
your mouth, but that which is good to the use
of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the
hearers” (Ephesians 4:29). In my view, profanity
is never appropriate, Not ever. It grieves
my spirit when I hear children curse and use
coarse language, and woman cursing like
sailors. So too, I think that it is disgraceful when
Christians use worldly and uncalled for language.
Concerning the language of the street, one man
comments, “Cursing is the effort of a feeble
mind trying to express itself.” – what can I say?
“And the children of Israel departed at that time,
every man of his tribe and to his family, and they
went out from there every man to his inheritance”
(Judges 21:24). Talk about scary: every man gett-
ing what belonged to him; hence, every man getting
what he richly deserved, even a glorious inheritance.
Now if you are a godly person you have nothing to
dread, for your inheritance is the Lord. But if you
are an ungodly and worldly person – guess what your
inheritance will be? (Luke 16:19-31).

“In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes” (Judges 21:25). Nothing much has changed since
those words were uttered by the man of
God, except to say that it gets worse as men’s
hearts grow darker and more unholy. Since men
refuse to let the Lord God rule over them as the
king of their lives, the only god they know is the
god of self. But he is not much of a bargain as far
as bargains are concerned. Nor is his kingdom
much of a reward. One day he will have to vac-
ate his little kingdom of self-centeredness and
submit to a King who is more Wiser and Power-
ful than he could ever hope to be:even Jesus
Christ the precious and lovely Son of God.

“If we have forgotten the name of our God,
or stretched out our hands to a strange
god…” (Psalm 44:20). Pardon me for laughing,
but not only has America and the rest of the
world forgotten the name of the Lord God,
but they have gone so far as to forget Him
altogether. This psalm should have begun
with “since,” not “If, The psalmist wrote,
“Wherefore do you hide your face, and
forget our affliction and our supplication”
(Psalm 44:24). God never hides His face
from anyone – WE HIDE OUR FACES FROM
HIM.
Hello everyone,
This weekend I plan to bring the message: “The High Priestly Prayer Of Christ (Part I)” from John 17:1-19. Please read through the attached Digging Deeper Bible study notes before Sunday to get the most out of the message. Services are at 8:30 and 11:00am.
Announcement From The Board of Elders
The Board of Elders is proud to announce that Stefanie Ahlers has been given the new title: “Director of Worship Music and Women’s Ministries.” Here is a little bio on Stef: Stefanie Ahlers was born in North Bend, to the Bigelow family back in ‘66. She, her parents, and 4 siblings (one is a twin) moved to Connecticut in 1979. There she graduated from New Milford High School, class of 1985. Upon graduation she went to Cincinnati Bible College & Seminary where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music. In 1992-93 Stef did her music ministry internship at Southeast Christian Church in Louisville Kentucky, one of the largest churches in the country. While in Louisville, she was able to be in a worship band, a Christian rock band, travel to England, Jamaica, Cuba, and Ethiopia on mission trips and perform at various churches and conventions throughout the country. In 1996, Stef took a music directorship at a church in Sweet Valley, Pennsylvania. There she helped develop the worship services and music ministry at a church of just under 300 congregants. In 1999, Stef moved back to Coos Bay, where she lived with and assisted her grandmother for 2 years. Kingsview Christian School hired her as a teacher where she taught for five years. She met her husband and got married in 2001, and they adopted their daughter, Katie, in 2005. Throughout the years Stef has been a homemaker, homeschool mom, recorded a CD, tutored children, been a home health care worker, and is now serving as the Director of Worship Music at Shoreline. She loves traveling, music, camping, reading, the outdoors, hanging out with her family and friends, and most of all JESUS! Stefanie came on staff at Shoreline in 2021. Since that time, Stef has done an outstanding job leading our worship music, the elders are now proud to add to her duties Director of Women’s Ministries.
Summer Worship Schedule
We are tentatively looking at moving our worship service outdoors for the summer on the 2nd Sunday of July. The weather continues to be unstable this year and I would like to do something special for the 4th of July; I will need to use the screens indoors to do this. Once we are outside, weather permitting, the plan is to remain outside with only one service at 10:30am through September.
Fred and Jeanette Kirk “Celebration Of Life”
Fred and Jeanette’s “Celebration Of Life” is scheduled for noon on Memorial Day at the Bastendorff Beach Campground gazebo. Please bring food to share with family members and friends.

Twins
Our niece and great-niece would like to thank everyone who stepped up to help them find Enfamil Gentlease Infant Formula 0-12 months baby formula for Taylor’s 5 ½ week old twins. It is a scary time for young mothers, especially when you have twins and cannot produce enough milk to feed them.
SCC Prayer Requests
Felix ~ Ron Williams has asked us to put a workmate of his on our prayer chain. Felix will be having brain surgery this week for an aneurysm following a stroke. He is not yet a believer.

Teaching God’s Word, loving the people!
“You prepare for me a table in the presence
of my enemies…” (Psalm 23:5). The Lord
God will not share His table with us if we
persist in feasting on the devil’s goodies,
and marching in his parade of stubborn-
ness and rebellion. We need to fight him,
not join his ranks. It is one thing to have
just one enemy, but many enemies; now
that makes you a pretty bad dude. Either
that, or you are a troublemaker that needs
to be controlled. If it is your tongue that
gets you into trouble, it might be a good
idea to cut it off (Matthew 5:29-30) be-
for the Lord God is forced to help you
to curb your unruly tongue.
Hi everyone,
This weekend I plan to bring the message, “Are You Completely Sold Out To God?” from Genesis 22:1-19. Josip and Anna will also be guest speakers in Joe Walker’s Sunday School class at 10:00am.

Liberal Companies Take A Stand For Abortion
The following information comes from a fortune.com article by Andrew Marquardt dated May 16, 2022.
“Some of the country’s biggest corporations have now said that they will cover the costs of employees who need to travel to get an abortion. On Monday, Starbucks Corp. became the latest company to pledge to pay for employees who need to travel more than 100 miles to get an abortion, joining others like Amazon, Microsoft and Apple.”
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” ~ Matthew 19:14
Work In Sanctuary

“Through You we will push down our enemies:
through Your name will we tread them under
that rise up against us” (Psalm 44:5). Some
folks like to boast how powerful they are;
however, when Satan gets in their face they
generally run from him in fear. As for pushing
down the enemy and treading him under foot,
it is mostly window dressing and a false confession.
We are to put on the full armor of God
(Ephesians 6:13-18) not trip over it running from
Satan and our fears. We are to overcome Satan-
not be overcome by him.
“The plowers plowed up my back: they
made long their furrows” (Psalm 129:3).
These words apply to the suffering of
our Lord Jesus on the cross, but they
apply equally as well to anyone who
dares to live for Jesus. One man
recently commented, “I used to be an
angel until the backbiters bit off both
of my wings.” But that is nothing strange
or new if you love and serve Jesus – so
don’t be surprised when it happens to you;
even to those who are willing to suffer for
His cause (James 1:2-3,12).
“Surely I have stilled and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my
soul is even as a weaned child.” (Psalm 31:2). It is wonderful to relax in the presence
of the Lord and quiet yourself before Him. If the children of the living God ever got to the place where they were quiet and satisfied, He would probably give out a great sigh of relief. But seeing we are a long way from that day, all He can do is sigh and wait for that glorious day to arrive. Come Lord Jesus, come.
“I beheld the transgressors and was grieved: because they kept not your
word” (Psalm 119:158). Such is the cry of intercessors; those who are
grieved over the sins of others, as well as their own. Conversely, it
might be well for all of us to take our eyes off of people and
concentrate on staying close to the Lord God, for if we are not careful,
He will behold us and be grieved at what He sees in our lives –
think about it!
This weekend Pastor Mike Barnard plans to bring the message, “Your Sorrow Will Turn To Joy” from John 16:16-33; communion will follow. Please read through the attached “Digging Deeper” Bible Study notes before Sunday to get the most out of the message.
We hope to see you this Sunday at 8:30 or 11:00am; Sunday School begins at 10:00am.
Services are broadcast live through our website @ shorelinecc.us (Sermons link) or on the Shoreline Community Church, North Bend facebook page. Services are also broadcast on Rumble and 10:00am Sunday mornings on 98.7 FM K-Light Radio in Coos Bay. We hope you can join us this Sunday at Shoreline!
Sunday, May 1st at 3pm Tom & Debbie Trammel will host the next Gospel Jubilee at Shoreline Community Church, 1251 Clark St. NB….with ONE BIG change.
The format will now be a Gospel OPEN MIC, so all are invited to come and share a song. For all who play instruments, you may accompany yourself or have the Jubilee Band accompany you…or….bring an accompaniment CD. We’re excited to see all the wonderful talent here in the COOS BAY/NORTH BEND area come together.
The Jubilee Band (Tom & Debbie Trammel & Steve Blum) will continue to lead the sing-along portion as well as perform a few special songs. Complimentary refreshments. Free will offering. For more information call Tom: 541-521-9596 or http://www.shorelinecc.us
“Rulers persecute me without a cause,
but my heart trembles at your word”
(Psalm 119:161). As of now the world is
proud and cocky, but there will come a
day in which they will experience a tremb-
ling they will never forget, when God’s
Son, Jesus, comes to town. The prophet
Isaiah wrote, “… but to this man will I
look, even to him that is of a poor and
contrite spirit, and trembles at my word”
Isaiah 66:2). Anyone who reads God’s
word and does not tremble at some of
the things He says, should not be taken
seriously -and should be considered to
be a fool of the highest order!
“Behold, the nations are as a drop in a bucket,
and are counted as small dust of a balance:
behold, He takes up the isles as a very little
thing” (Isaiah 40:15). The question is this: How
big is God? Just as important, how big will you
let Him be in your heart, in your faith, in your
thinking – and, especially, in your life?
Just a Thought: Jesus sets us free –
crucifixion keeps us Free.
This weekend Pastor Mike Barnard plans to bring the message, “The Promised Holy Spirit” from John 16:1-15. Please read through the attached “Digging Deeper” Bible study notes to get the most out of this week’s teaching.
Services are at 8:30 and 11:00am; Sunday School begins at 10:00am. We hope that you can join us in person, but if not, services will be broadcast live through our website (shorelinecc.us – Sermons link) and through the Shoreline Community Church, North Bend facebook page. May God bless you with an awesome week as you walk closely with Him!
When Elvis Presley was popular in the mid-fifties,
girls would swoon at the mention of his name. But
Jesus’ name is much more popular than any human
name, because people don’t faint at the name of
Jesus – they “walk and leap, and praise God. How
about you? (Acts 3:8). So too, God’s word says,
“For every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue
shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall
give account of himself to God” (Romans 14:11-12).
Are you ready for that great and fearful day?
We know nothing of love
until we meet Jesus!
Friday, April 15 ~ “Good Friday Service” (6:30pm) ~ Pastor Dave Rymer will be bringing the message, “Jesus, Man Of Sorrows” from Luke 23:13-46 at the church on Friday evening; communion will follow the message.
Sunday, April 17 ~ “Resurrection Day Celebrations” ~ This Sunday Pastor Mike Barnard plans to bring the message “He Is Not Here, He Is Risen!” from Luke 24:5-6. You can expect some outstanding music and touching videos during this service, we hope you will invite family and friends to attend with you. Please read through the attached “Digging Deeper” Bible study notes before Sunday to get the most out of the message.
All of our services are broadcast live through our website at shorelinecc.us (Sermons link) and on the Shoreline Community Church facebook page. Hope to see you this Sunday!
“At midnight I will rise up to give thanks unto thee
because of thy righteous judgments (Psalm 119:62).
Most people do not rise up at midnight to give thanks
to the Lord God, but they wake up at the crack of
dawn to rebel against Him and see how many sins
they can commit before they get caught. Anyone
who rises up at midnight to give thanks to the Lord
is an extraordinary person; anyone who praises
Him at 7:00a.m. has a great day in store for them.
Anyone who praises the Lord God all day long
is almost unheard of. If you’re telling yourself, you
don’t deserve a second chance with God – remind
yourself that you didn’t deserve the first one either.
This weekend Guest Pastor Mike Ruyle plans to bring the message, “Surprise” from Isaiah 55. Outline is attached. Services are at 8:30 and 11:00am; Sunday School is at 10:00am with three adult electives. Services are also broadcast live through our website (www.shorelinecc.us – Sermons link) and on the Shoreline Community Church facebook page. Hope you can join us this Sunday!
“For ever. O Lord, your word is settled in heaven”
(Psalm 119:89). It is one thing to have God’s Word
settled in heaven, and it is another thing to have
it settled in our hearts and in our lives. Once the
Word is settled in our hearts and lives it will bring
forth the glorious fruits of righteousness that
brings praise, glory, and honor unto Him. Any-
thing that brings praise, glory, and honor unto
us needs to be given back to Him for – He knows
how to handle it better!
Pastor David Rymer
This weekend Pastor Mike Barnard plans to bring the message, “The New Testament Church” from 1 Corinthians 14:26-40. Please read through the attached “Digging Deeper” Bible study notes before Sunday to get the most out of the message.
Services are at 8:30 and 11:00am; Sunday School is at 10:00am with three adult electives. Services are also broadcast live through our website (www.shorelinecc.us – Sermons link) and on the Shoreline Community Church facebook page. Hope you can join us this Sunday!
“I have esteemed the words of his mouth more
than my necessary (daily) food” (Job 23:12). It
is better to eat God’s cake than Satan’s cookies.
Job said that he esteemed (respected) God’s
words. It is one thing to respect His words, and
another thing to obey and follow them. It is the
better of wisdom to listen to Him without getting
lippy and rebellious at the things He tells us to
do. But if you insist upon having it your way –
have at it, for there will come a day in which you
will regret eating Satan’s cupcakes in hell rather
than God’s prime rib in heaven.
Pastor David Rymer
If you change your thinking, God will change your life. You can’t go
around thinking thoughts of defeat and failure and expect God to fill
you with joy, power, and victory. You can’t go around thinking
thoughts of poverty and lack and expect God to fill you with
abundance. You can’t live a life of victory if you have a victim’s mentality.
If you are happy – tell your face about it.
Pastor David Rymer
“If you abide in me and my word abides in you,
you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done
unto you” (John 15:7). Now we know why some
folks get what they want from God, while others
don’t. To abide in Christ takes more than a visit
once in a blue moon. He is interested in real
fellowship. He wants no part of a quick “Hi, how
are you – see you later when I have more time.”
To abide in Christ involves long visits. Some folks
enjoy short visits, some are interested in knowing
Him intimately, and some take long vacations
from Him – which one are you?
The Preacher
This weekend Pastor Mike Barnard plans to bring the message “Love And The Spiritual Gifts” from 1 Corinthians 13:1-13; communion will follow the message. We have been learning that the work of the Holy Spirit is critical in the life of every believer and the proper use of our spiritual gifts is essential to the health of the local church. Please read through the attached “Digging Deeper” Bible study notes before Sunday to prepare your hearts for the message.
We hope you can join us at 8:30 or 11:00am on Sunday; don’t forget that it is Daylight Savings time this weekend and we have to spring forward an hour. “See then that you walk carefully, not as fools, but
as wise, redeeming the time, for the days are evil. ,
Wherefore be not unwise, but understanding what
the will of the Lord is” (Ephesians 5:5-7).
Evidently some Christians who do not know what
the will of the Lord is are unwise. Not only are they
unwise, but they live a dangerous life relative to the
lies, tricks, and traps of Satan who can take them
captive anytime he wants to (2 Timothy 2:26).
If you want to know the will of God is, begin with
Matthew 1:1 and go on from there. ~ Pastor Dave Rymer

The Preacher
Everyone is struggling with something: some struggle with sin, some struggle with following after God, some struggle with others, some struggle to be faithful to God, some struggle to keep faithful to their wedding vows, and some struggle with a guilty conscience; the list goes on and on. If you are saying, “What is happening to me,” (Genesis 25:22: ERV,) you can always go to the Lord God for answers. He will point you to His Son, Jesus’ struggle on the cross – for at the cross the struggle ends and peace begins.”

When the Christian missionary David Livingston was working in Africa, his missionary board wrote, “We would like to send other men to you. Have you found a good road in your area?” Livingston wrote back, “If you have men who will only come if they know if there is a good road, I do not want them. I want men who will come if there is no road at all.”

It’s just after 5 a.m. and I am once again restless, reaching out to the Lord and wanting to know why. It’s just days away from Christmas, and what use to be my all time favorite time of the year isn’t the same. Something is wrong and has been for years.
This morning in my prayer time, (I usually find I say what is really wrong when I go to the Lord) something came out that nailed it. It feels like someone stole Christmas! The sad thing is that it is true!
When I talk to people, whether they know the Lord or not, they all say the same thing, just worded differently; I just can’t get into it this year, it just feels different. It could be stress, separation, Covid, the death of a friend or loved one, surgery; loss of income… wanting it to be like it use to be is the baseline!
The sad thing is that someone has been trying to steal Christmas and from day one, and his name is Satan. This isn’t anything new; he is just bolder as his time gets shorter. My guess is that it will continue to get worse each year for each one until we decide that we are not going to let him and take Christmas back! No one can take away our love for Christ Jesus or Christmas unless we let them.
Christmas was never about pleasing people, over decorating, overextending our credit, over eating, over doing, over scheduling and exhausting ourselves… on the contrary! Christmas was and still is not about what we give or do for each other but it was and is and always has been about what God has given to us. He has always given us His best, just look around.
God has given us a beautiful planet to live on, it could have been Mars! He gave us a beautiful background, look at the trees, flowers, waterfalls and oceans! He gave us songbirds, butterflies, fields, amusing squirrels, buffaloes and on and on I could go! He gave us people! Tall, short, skinny round, blondes, redheads, brunettes, blue eyes, brown eyes, green eyes, and grey. He gave us skin tones that are so varied and voices! Sopranos, baritones, altos and everything in between. And don’t forget laughter which in itself makes me laugh. And would we ever forget, all that we need to do is just look up! Sunrises, sunsets, clouds, clear skies, snow, rain, rainbows, stars, meteorological showers and so on.
This being said, how could we ever doubt that He is creative? How could we ever believe that He would be of the mindset that this is not good enough or that he doesn’t love us; and why would we EVER allow the greatest gift given to mankind to be “stolen” because we feel sorry for ourselves?
Christmas is about restoration, hope, healing, sharing and so very much more. It is about our Creator, the one Who created the sun, moon and the stars reaching down through time and giving! It isn’t that Christmas is given to us each year; it is that Christmas is up to us to remember. It is our responsibility to remember and celebrate the deep love of a Father, the undeserved compassion, the forgiveness that we FREELY can and have received when we ask. It is not up to God to give us anything more than He has already given.
Christmas cannot be stolen from a heart of thankfulness and gratitude. It cannot be stolen from one who truly knows and understands just what God has already done. It is a time of our stopping our own selfishness and thanking God for salvation from a world of sin, from bad relationships, from poverty of soul… from separation from Him!
Whatever we are feeling right now is up to us, it is a choice. We can be thankless or thankful. We can be hopeless or hopeful. We can allow Christmas and all that is stands for be stolen or hold onto it with every fiber in our being and fall on our knees in tears and thank God for giving not just a day or a present but the greatest gift ever given.
His name is Wonderful Counselor, Almighty God, everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, the lily of the Valley, Son of the living God, Beautiful, Living Water, The good Shepherd, The Light, the Gate, Bread of Heaven. He gave us a Savior… He gave us His best, He gave us his son and His name is Jesus.
May we all take our problems, issues, loneliness, hurt, pain, joy and peace, thank God for giving us His love wrapped up in a Person. May we all stop looking around for fulfillment and humbly thank God for satisfying our greatest need… forgiveness. May we all take back what the enemy has stolen and give God the glory for all that He has already done.
Merry Christmas!
