Hello everyone,
This weekend I plan to bring our second message in our new six-week series on “The Book of Malachi.” This is God’s final word to Israel before the 400 years of prophetic silence leading up to the birth of Christ. The title of this Sunday’s message will be, “A Priesthood Gone Corrupt” from Malachi 2:1-9. I encourage you to read through the attached “Digging Deeper” Bible study notes before Sunday to get the most out of the message.
Baptism and Child Dedication Service This Weekend
This Sunday we plan to do a child dedication before the message and conclude the service with several baptisms, so far several people have expressed interest in following the Lord in water baptism. If you have never followed the Lord in water baptism by immersion and would like to, please let me know as soon as possible!
Dale Cooper Interim Pastoral Care
Dale Cooper has joined the Shoreline staff helping us with our Pastoral Care ministry on an interim basis. It sounds like Pastor David will be doing some calls this week as well as he struggles to recover from his stroke. All-Church Camp at Laverne Park
Our All-Church Camp is scheduled for September 18-22 at the Laverne Park’s Private Campground. The cost for the camp is $25.00 per day, and you are welcome to come for as many of the days as you like. If you are interested in attending, please register on the signup sheet in the back of the Sanctuary. Come expecting lots of fun, fellowship, and some very good teachings in God’s Word. Camp is filling up so please sign up soon.
SCC Prayer Request
Karen Freeman ~ Karen is undergoing a critical surgery at Riverbend today, please keep Karen and her family in your prayers.
Lydia Kendall ~ Lydia is slowly getting better; the family is grateful for all your prayers. As of today, Lydia is still in Bay Area Hospital.
Richard Orton ~ Please continue to pray that Richard’s kidneys will start working again. Richard is at Riverbend Hospital in Springfield and is the son of Rick Orton.
